    It's nearly Halloween

This is mine, it fits in the compact spaces.

Username and avatar are St. Kateri Tekakwitha, Lily of the Mohawks. She’s a saint I like.

    Trick or Treat

I think I’ll be camping out in my front lawn with some glow sticks. The kids loved them last year.

    Chocolate brine bars

The Texas ones gelled and the round ones didn’t. Looks like dark chocolate and milk chocolate. Very curious to see how a brine bar feels! They’re scented with death by chocolate FO, and colored with cocoa powder.

White salt bars, not the prettiest

I bought them at H‑E‑B. They also have tiny ones with the conchas and empanadas that would be cool for embeds.

    Lady parts😬

I’ve used it with no problems, but for that area I go for unscented, feminine wash recipes.

What soapy thing have you done today?

I made some brine soap today. Looked like chocolate cake batter going in the molds. I’m curious to see how the scent mellows out. It’s Death by Chocolate, but it smelled like chocolate liqueur in the soap batter. I won’t be mad if it stays like that. Probably going to be my last batch of soap...

White salt bars, not the prettiest

The mold is supposed to look like conchas, my favorite Mexican sweet bread. The bread is made with a seashell pattern.

White salt bars, not the prettiest

100% coconut oil, 20% superfat, 50% salt. Lightly scented with coconut fragrance oil. I should have gone a bit heavier on the fragrance, and poured a bit faster. The white color is nice, though. I think I like the ‘rustic’ effect better on the round ones than on the plain bars.

    Tallow as body butter?

I’ve seen people online lately using whipped tallow as moisturizer, or including it in lotion bar recipes. Now I’m fine using animal fat in soap, since it’s not really a glob of animal fat anymore once it’s saponified. But have any of y’all tried it in a balm or butter type application? The...

Cake flavor oil for lotion bars?

If you use a good amount of the non-deodorized cocoa butter, it should smell like chocolate automatically. Or like a Mounds bar if you pair it with virgin coconut oil. I don’t think I’d use a sweetened flavoring for lotion bars; I want the bugs to keep away!

    Vegetable oil for practice?

Maybe canola oil? I was surprised to check the ingredients for the soaps one of my favorite bath stores sells, to find they’re made with canola and coconut oil.

    Oatmeal, milk, and honey

I just tried to eyeball it. I poured the plain batter in the mold, then added the color to what was left. Gonna have to head to the dollar store and get some more soaping containers, lol.

    Oatmeal, milk, and honey

Olive, coconut, and castor, with goat’s milk powder, honey, and aloe juice. The dark part is colored with cocoa powder and has coffee grounds mixed in. Scented with oatmeal, milk, and honey FO. I was going for equal parts with the colors, but it seems I was a bit off.

    One of my favorite soaps

Looks exactly like the coconut candy at Hobby Lobby, yum!
