My rancid score is simply based upon the fatty acid makeup. I might toy with the scores a bit to adjust for superfat since that obviously has a tremendous impact on the soap properties. The charts allow a more accurate range showing a basic bell curve for all of the different properties to see...
Soap becomes 'not soap' at anything much below 9 and a dog's skin is more alkaline than humans. It just cannot handle being stripped of its natural protective layers as easily as ours can. Your best bet is to simply create the most gentle bar you can formulate.

colorants can vary from clay to oxides with no change or trend i can discern.
it definitely seems related to the pour as if there is a layer similar to ITP swirls, but what is that layer?
I have had a couple batches now where I am getting clear streaks in the soap(see picture below).
- These streaks are slightly softer.
- Passes zap test, so its not lye.
- Always use an immersion blender and pour around medium trace.
