    Soap chart

I was just thinking today that I need to tart taking more detailed notes. I've made too many batches at this point to rely on just my formula and memory, and I've only made about 25 or 30 batches. So in 6 months I wont be able to rely on my memory after (hopefully) more batches. And forget it in...

If the Rainbow Sticks are Single Barrel Soaps' they made confetti soap with it. The rainbow sticks in white soap.

    Formulating a recipe?

I am new to soap making as well. I have made about 2 batches, after I spent a year researching. I am by far not qualified to answer your Palm oil question, although I have made a few batches without palm oil, but mostly Castile soap, but that is a whole different animal, and a few batches with...

    Water Amounts

Well I do not have money or time to waste so I wanted to make sure I knew what I was getting myself into :)

    Water Amounts

Wow Deeanna, thank you! Awesome explanation. I really thought I had a good handle on this soap making, I researched CP soap for over a year before I attempted it. My first batch came together fairly easy, even did a Clyde Slide for that batch, and it came out beautiful, of course I was...

    Dry crumbled soap

I think I forgot to say I used a stick blender. Generally I just hand mix the oils together once the hard oils are melted. I will stick blend and see how that works.

    Water Amounts

Okay I realize this is an older thread but I am hoping for some help anyway. So after poking around these boards yesterday I have come to the realization that even though I researched CP soap making for almost a year before diving in, I still have so much to learn. I want to do this right. So...

    Hobby Lobby Scents

2 days ago, I tried to make a batch of CP and used a whole 1 oz bottle of Hobby Lobby Cucumber Melon :( It was awful. A horrible mess. The whole thing went straight to thick trace, I was able to quickly get it into a mold, but the resulting soap is sad. It will be useable for my family, but...

    Dry crumbled soap

I guess soft and sticky is the wrong description. The loaf is hard, but when cut into it is a usually a little tacky. And very dry. It also has a different feel to it than my other batches do. It is super smooth in some spots, when you handle it, it falls apart in some places. There are patches...

    Dry crumbled soap

This particular one was from Bulk Apothecary. I have always used Brambleberry FO and EO in all my other batches.

    Dry crumbled soap

Is there a thread on this forum where people can post their favorite/tried and true products they have used? I don't know if it is appropriate to mention different company names within regular threads. I don't want to break any rules, but I am not really interested in purchasing fragrance oils...

    Dry crumbled soap

just went back and read the websites info, does not say it is for sure CP safe. Only 2 customer reviews and neither one says they have used it in CP. I bought this FO back when I was doing exclusively M&P soap, so I just thought I would give it a go. You would think I would have checked before...

    Dry crumbled soap

I did use a knife, the same one I usually use, but maybe that is the problem. I automatically assumed it was my recipe...like I said very new still.
