I have been making cold process soap since the year 2000. I love trying new techniques, hot process, liquid soap and melt and pour from scratch. Currently, I am experimenting with making soap from reclaimed oils that would normally be discarded like used cooking oils, soap oils that have gone rancid, chicken fat, oil from tuna cans, bacon fat, also soap trimmings. I am using an old time method called salting out. It removes the impurities, scent and color and then can be made into laundry soap or soap for bathing.

I've had a soap business for quite a few years, wholesale accounts and a beautiful website that read like a J Peterman's catalogue. A few years ago I downsized the business and website to just a page with a link for my loyal customers to find me. This now affords me the time to experiment and put the fun back into soapmaking.
