Who knows about adding citric acid to lye water?? I have formulated everything properly BUT I freaking forgot to add the citric to the distilled water before I added the lye so I added it after the lye was dissolved.
***Well….I highly suggest NOT doing that as all kind is sizzling and scary...

I made 4 batches of essential soap with coconut cream added as a portion of the water. First time using some of these essential oils.

This soap hardened up, I cut it and it’s been curing almost 2 weeks. It looks like soap and acts like soap so I’m going to wrap it up and gift it and keep a couple of bars for myself.
My soap is made….it was my very first time trying a column pour. While it looks decent, it could look a lot better. I learned a LOT from this batch. It was only the second time using animal fats in soap. I chose them because they give lots of working time. The only thing I could find around here...
The containers were all sitting together and all the same temp with my infrared thermometer.
I used an accelerating fragrance for the soap just in case to make sure it hardened up and was able to cut it several hours after I made it.
I prepped 6 batches of soap 2 days ago. They have 20% coconut oil and 25% palm. My palm oil was fully melted and mixed when I used it. ALL of the other containers had solidified hard oils but this one and all were around 62°F. I was careful to make sure I put the correct oils in all the...

One of the very first soaps I ever made that weren’t melt & pour was dragons blood fragranced and it had a dragon face in it!! I still have these bars I made in 2018. Apart they look like the profile of some kind of demon, but together I see the straight on face of a dragon
