    Essentials by Catalina

I've seen a couple mentions of Essentials by Catalina as a supplier, but all of them refer to pre-made bases. Does anyone have experience with their fragrance oils? I picked up quite a few of them on a whim, and because they had some great sounding fragrances I hadn't seen anywhere else. So...

    Pearlizer in shower gel base

I'm using a pearlizer (sodium laureth sulfate and glycol stearate) at 3% in WSP's liquid suspension soap base, but I'm not getting the pearl effect. It makes the base opaque and lathers beautifully, but I was hoping for really noticeable pearlescence. Any suggestions...should I use more or less...

    IFRA Question

So I've been looking at some of the IFRA certificates for random frangrances at different suppliers and am curious as to why the maximum usage rate of Category 9 (Bath products, bar soap, shampoo, etc) is often lower than Category 7 (intimate feminine wipes, etc.) or Category 5 (facial...

    Optiphen plus question

Shelf life of Optiphen Plus is 1-2 years...best thing to do would be to test it with a small batch first to see if there are any issues. Preservatives don't "go bad", but they can lose their effectivity at the end of shelf life and may not protect your products as well or at all.

Spring Craft Fair_ Keep my Mouth Shut Nope

Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but I always thought you could mention the ingredients, for instance lavender EO and say something like "Lavender EO has been shown to..."; essentially insinuating that your product can do something without actually saying it does. But yeah, unless...

    Fragrance Oil Review Chart Link

Most of the reviews/notes deal with CP soap...are we non-soapers allowed to put up reviews? I stick to body butters, hand creams and sugar scrubs, but I'd love to post my thoughts on some fragrances. In fact, I've got a ton of stuff from SOS and notice that there are only a few oils reviewed...

Mad Oils - I am in LOVE

Thanks to this thread, I ended up purchasing several fragrances from Mad Oils. My assessment: Vanilla Milk - Apparently it's THE vanilla scent for vanilla haters. Wasn't super impressive OOB since I'm not a big vanilla fan...but in body butter the dry down is amazing. I guess the best way...
