    Hot Process

Thank you everyone for your responses. I do think the air bubbles hid gel. The soap looks pretty good other than not having enough color or scent. I will eventually get that right too. I sliced it after 24 hours and its hardening up nicely. Its not burned. I will post a picture of it soon.

    Hot Process

I created my first hot process batch yesterday. It went terrible. I followed online advice and used a crock pot. I got it to trace easily. But I never could get it to gel. Or maybe I did and I didn't recognize it. I had plastic wrap on the top to keep it from losing moisture. But it...

    Was this mixed enough?

This is my first ever batch of soap. Notice the blotchy appearance. I'm wondering if I didn't mix it enough. I used an emersion blender in short bursts. The attached photo is of a batch that is 9 hours old, using Palm oil, coconut oil, olive oil, safflower oil, and sweet almond oil. 6.75%...

    Dumb Superfatting Question

This is bugging me.... Soap helps water to wash oil/fat away... Right? It does this by binding with the fat molecule, right? So if we superfat, then doesn't that just give the soap something else to bind with rather than the fat/oil on your body? In this case wouldn't the superfat...
