Shea butter can improve hardness, and the refined shea is white, not sure about the natural. I think shortening would add to the hardness too.

Hey :) I know your question is about soap, but I wanted to share about a few oils that have really helped my Mom's eczema. She's also suffered with it all of her life and goes through massive bottles of lotion every week to try and prevent her skin from cracking, and it doesn't even do that...

I take it into the shower with me and test how my skin feels afterwards. Then I've been handing it out to my friends and family for them to try. So far, the reviews have been good :)

Keep in mind that I haven't been at this for long, but I looove the blend of lemon 5 fold with anise star, or orange sweet with anise star. It smells sooooo good. Also, lavender with peppermint is really awesome.

I can't wait either! I'm still not totally sure what oils I'm going to use for the soap. I'm thinking maybe a 50% coconut 50% olive oil with a 10 or 15% superfat.
