    Breast Milk Soap

I'm currently breastfeeding my little one. Breast milk actually has a lot of medicinal properties. She's only been sick once in the past 10 months, breastmilk passes on immunities. In addition you can apply breast milk to the scalp if they have cradle cap and it will help it to go away...

If you make HP, would you care to share a tried and true recipe?

Exactly it's all about technique. You just have to watch it very closely. In the crockpot I tend to melt my fats seperately and then add them to the crock which I then put in the pot. I used to melt them in the crock pot itself, but for some reason doing it that way I had a lot of problems...

    Experimenting with cocoa powder

I love using cocoa powder in soaps. I often use it to create a sort of line between layers. I'll pour a layer then sprinkle it on using a tea ball and then pour my next layer. When you use the soap the cocoa powder between layers gives you chocolatey suds like you are bathing in chocolate...

    1st Batch

Very nice, especially for a first batch. My first batch was nothing to write home about. Plain white bars. I somehow got this idea in my head that I could go ahead and do without a stick blender. So I whisked, and I whisked, and I whisked and whisked and whisked and whisked. And when if...

    Failed beer soap

Sounds like you use the same process I do DeeAnna. I boil it down to half of its original volume. I try to use it as all my liquid but if I'm a little short I add a little water. It doesn't hurt as it's basically a beer concentrate at this point. Then I let it sit at room temp for a few...

    New Soaps

I think I need a slab mold to make my swirls prettier. I always use a log mold. Gives me gorgeous tops, but not the big swirls which make me swoon.

    First salt bars

Lovely! Every time I make salt bars they weep like crazy. I figured it was the humidity down here in south mississippi. Then again I never put them in the oven either. I wonder if putting them in the oven would cut down on the weeping?

    Recent goodies!

The celtic molds are the thick white plastic ones from brambleberry. The snowflake on the buttermilk orange poppy seeds bars is actually a flexible silicone ice cube mold from the dollar store. On the plastic molds I lightly oil with mineral oil before pouring. Then when the soap is ready...

Black and white (kind of) soap

Thanks cmzaha. I haven't tried activated charcoal yet. I do enjoy using lard, you can't beat it for lather and hardness. I've never used titanium dioxide either. Looks like I'm going shopping when we get paid again!

    New Soaps

*Sigh* I still can't get my swirls to look like this. These are beautiful!

My very first CP soap EVER!!

I love layered soaps. I think I like this concept better as a layer than as a swirl, it very much reminds me of a cappuccino or a root beer float. Thinking I need to invest in a textured soap cutter, it's one think I've never done.

Black and white (kind of) soap

Now I want to eat black and white cookies! I'm still trying to figure out the best black and white method myself. I do a lot of milk soaps so I never get a pure white soap, usually more cream colored. Feeling inspired though!

    A few recent "projects"!

Gorgeous! How did you do that curl?

    Recent goodies!

I've recently started back soaping after a long sabbatical to have my daughter and newborn care. Here are a few of my favorite recent projects. The Blue Celtic Molded bars are scented with LoveSpell FO, colored with blue iron oxide, and have gold sparkle mica decoration. They are a buttermilk...
