What's Going On With My Soap?

I had the bumps on a batch of soap I made and I did some research and I figured mine was from the stearic acid in the palm oil. It looked like little pimples all over the top of my soap. What I did to solve this was to melt my oils to about 165 degrees and mix consistently while the oils were...

How much oils to put in 5lb mold?

I currently use the 5lb Brambleberry mold and I use 50 oz of oil. It gives me room to work without making a big mess. You could increase it up to 8 oz like shunt2011 said and that should be perfect if you want a slightly taller bar. Good luck!

    I HATE waiting :(

    Free samples

I use to give out full bars when asked for samples. It got to be really expensive, especially when people wanted to try different scents. So, what I do now is cut one bar of soap into about 1/4 inch pieces and put each individual soap in a small glassine bag. I print out a label with the name of...

    Bulk palm shortening source

I'm not sure if palm shortening is the same as palm oil. Soaper's Choice has palm oil and the price is really reasonable!

    icing on HP soap

Pretty HP Top I HP all my soaps and I love the look of the top. You should use a chop stick to swirl the top. Start at one end and swirl in little sections. Hope that helps!
