    EO blend test results

I agree with your Clary Sage comment - love the scent but hate the $$$. I've made it without and have used other EO or FO in place. That's part of my 'make up a new blend'!

    EO blend test results

I've played around with the EO Calc Gentleman's Lavender a few times, moved the % of various EO around, and have one of my fav blends of all time! I have a bottle premixed so I can use a bit and add a different EO to make a totally different scent for special projects. Sometimes I even remember...

    Cats

Jazzy looks just like our Beastie (RIP). We adopted her at 10 years old and she passed just before her 22nd b-day! And yes, she was named perfectly.

    Doggie Soap (cold processed)

Prior to my 'adventures in soap making', I purchased a dog-specific liquid oatmeal shampoo. It worked fine but I figured that I could make an even better one... I used pH strips and everything, it should work - right? No, it didn't. A trip to the vet for a shot to calm the reaction and some...

    Doggie Soap (cold processed)

Syndet has worked although I'm...

    Record keeping and notations

I really like to be pen-to-paper (post-it notes rule!) but lost some of my fav formulations that way... :( With help from my tech-savvy sons, I still have my base recipes on paper (in a 3-ring binder) - and copy exists online. Easier to track batches & keep notes too.

What made you pick your avatar/ username?!

My username is because I live at the edge of a forest. The picture was taken while hiking the mountain behind the house with one of my 2 border-boys.

    How quickly did you start

Initial idea to making the first batch - years. The delay was 'life' getting in the way and my being a research every-little-detail geek.

    Long overdue intro

After being a multi-year lurker - time to introduce myself… Hello everyone, my name is Erin. I live in Vancouver on the wonderful ‘wet’ coast. My soaping journey began began back in 2000 during a conversation with the sons about stuff we could to do together. A comment about soap making (a la...
