Hi all, could anyone tell me at what height should the blade be set for planing my soaps. I know the higher it is the more it will plane off, I just wondered if there was a sweet spot. TIA ffynn

Thank you. Yes, a skewer which I put down in the centre of the black and pulled it to the side then repeated the action a few times finishing with one circular sweep near the edge.

Had a lovely surprise when I cut a column soap made on Wednesday. I used a Pringles tube and fashioned a thin tube out of a sheet of acetate that I had to put in centre for the black soap. It was messy to pull out the inner tube but I managed it, my batter was a bit too thick and I had to work...

Hi Fiona how would Trex be added to the label would you have to use the INCI separately for the palm/ rapeseed. Im still debating whether to try lard or dripping.

Thanks everyone for your replies. Even though I live very rural here in Wales, I don't know anyone with goats. I will have to ask around. I just wanted to try goats milk for its gentle effect (although there are heaps of recipes that are gentle without the GM) I think I'm after something...
