I don't recommend bath fitter for the reasons posted above as well. there is a epoxy coating that u can spray on the shower/bath tub. it requires sanding/prep work, then spray coat. the epoxy has a very strong chemical smell and needs ventilation. the DIY version at Home Depot/lowes lasted...

it really works wonders on all of my greasy pans etc in the kitchen. I spray and let it soak for a bit, then wipe up with a paper towel if it's really greasy, then wash as usual. I save a lot of money by making my own refills. I just reuse the pump sprayer. :thumbs:

for the oily residue, I really love using Dawn Powerwash spray. It really does a great job on oil/grease. It can be made with rubbing alcohol, dawn dish soap, and water. (plenty of refill recipes online)

I am not a fan of how Polyolefin shrinks either. The seams are very bulky and ugly. I much prefer PVC shrink wrap. However, Polyolefin has ventilation which is good for CP soap. Since I do MP I am able to use PVC without any issues.

I had that happen to one of my silicone molds that was stored with scented candles. I put the mold in the top rack of the dishwasher and that helped some. I now keep all my molds separate from anything else. Any fragranced products are kept in another room since the majority of the soaps I...

so from what I'm hearing from you all...if I have my husband master batch a lye solution ahead of time and set it aside for me...there is no smell when it is used to finish making CP? How long does a masterbatch last? Thank you so much for answering my questions. much appreciated

I have yet to learn how to make CP soap. My biggest fear is the Lye triggering my asthma. I am extremely sensitive to chemicals, fragrances, and scents. They trigger my asthma and I end up having a very bad attack. Usually end up using my nebulizer, and occasionally have to go to the ER/

We had a lot of left over lip balm from BA that we ordered for my parent's 50th anniversary party. They are 1 1/2-2 years old and now they smell like the sunflower oil has gone bad? What can we use them for other than personal use? Can we make candles out of them?
