hey guys,
So I am talking with a local cafe about creating a soap that represents their brand so I created this last week as my first prototype.
I don't currently have any coffee fragrances , the one pictured just used an oatmeal fragrance so this is what I wanted to ask about. How do I best...
Okay just an update.
So this is what happened to some of the batch.
Salty type of surface with a PH of 10.
Thoughts>?
Is it potentially too much fragrance?
The good thing everyone is so wonderful on this forum to help accelerate us all up that long steep curve.
I did hydrate my clay in water for around an hour while I prepared. I am wondering if I measured too much clay to accommodate for the whole recipe rather than just the amount needed for...
Thanks for your replies!
I did use a knife as I can't find my soap cutters and this makes perfect sense.
Sometimes you just learn by making mistakes.
Cheers
Nah, it has stopped gelling.
I added 1 tspn per lb of oils.
I waited 24 hrs before I cut. Tonight I retried on my second loaf (48 hrs) and it still had the same effect maybe to a slightly lesser extent
Hi Epic Soapers!
I did my latest batch of soap Saturday night.
It is matcha charcoal soap with a Wooded Apple cider fragrance.

Thanks,
EpicSoap
Hi everyone,
So my cans arrived so I can start exploring the world of shaving soaps to create for myself and my friends.
I want to start with a relatively simple recipe. I tend to make all my soaps with beer these days so would like to explore that but also happy to just go for distilled...
Loving the responses you have given me here!
Lots of this is familiar but given that I don't live and breathe soap everyday so it is nice to be refreshed.
I have taken aboard your feedback and will be readjusting my recipe. I have ordered some Sodium Citrate to counteract the scum, and will...
Heya,
I have ventured to make a few batches of beer soap.
I have made plenty of other types of soap and they have generally turned out lovely. Nonetheless, I have been using the following recipe but only replacing the water with beer (that has been boiled and frozen). I add sodium lactate and...
Thanks for the responses.
I did a home brew stout recipe. I boiled my beer and added lye to the beer from frozen with 31% lye. I used the Brambleberry Oatmeal stout fragrance.
It isn't rancid because the smell, I was wondering if it was a touch of overheating.
Is it possible there might have...
