Need FO suggestions for Celestial and/or Witchy theme

Hi everyone! I'm making a new collection at my daughter's request. She's very into earthy, witchy, new-age-y, astrology, crystalogy stuff, etc etc... So we thought it would be fun to do a collection around this theme. I have a pretty dang big collection of scents, but I'm lacking in anything...

    Thoughts on the Leucidal preservatives?

I was on the Lotion Crafter website recently and came across their Leucidal preservatives. This was the first I've heard of these, but I'm very intrigued by the fact that they are naturally derived and do not include parabens, formaldehyde, or phenoxyethanol. I would love to move to a more...

    Embroidery--learning to thread paint

Janelle, I'm doing her stitch-along right now, too! It's so helpful, as I've always struggled so much with that darn long and short stitch! Lolli and Grace is part of the FB group I mentioned earlier, and she always gives great help and advice!

    Embroidery--learning to thread paint

Oh yay! Another embroiderer! I picked up this hobby (obsession) this fall and have been addicted ever since! I love doing it at night when my hubby is watching one of his many "car repair" shows for the umpteenth time. It's so peaceful... Almost meditative! Janelle, there is a group...

    Water Soluble Dyes and Preservatives?

Ohhhh! I didn’t know you could bloom in oil or alcohol. Well, that solves that issue. Now I feel kinda stupid.:D Lol I already use optiphan in my scrubs, so I was mostly concerned about bath bombs. Thanks for the advice and help!

    Water Soluble Dyes and Preservatives?

Hi everyone! I’m thinking about switching from micas to water soluble dyes for my bath bombs, bubble bars, and whipped scrub so that I can get more vivid colors and stop using Poly 80. But here’s my question. To use water soluble dyes, I know you have to “bloom” them by mixing them in water...

    Extreme Hard Water

Yup, it’s an option for those on the well! And a very good option! We are on a well, have terribly hard water with a very high copper count, and we get terrible scale. We have an industrial sized water softener. It worked BEAUTIFULLY until my hubby recently installed one of those instant hot...

Powdered clay mask recipe forumulation and %s?

Thanks, Isq! I was just wondering if there was some rule of thumb about how many parts clay to parts powdered additives (like cucumber powder, milk powder, rosehip powder). Maybe it's just trial and error, but I thought I'd check. I've searched and online but haven't found much about powdered masks.

Powdered clay mask recipe forumulation and %s?

Hi everyone! My daughter and I are going to try our hand at making some powdered clay masks (that we'll add water or yogurt to each time we use it). We have all sorts of different clays, some activated charcoal, powdered goat's milk, and powdered fruit, vegetable, and flower extracts to mix in...

Big plastic storage containers for foaming bath butter?

Hello, everyone! This week, I am planning on making up a big batch of my own foaming bath butter base, so that I can stop buying it from elsewhere (that stuff is expensive, but it's also my family's favorite all-time soap). Since I won't be using it all at once but rather pulling it out to use...

    A couple Lip Balm Questions

SO many awesome tips here! Thanks so much, everyone, for chiming it. :) MGM, may I ask how you temper? I love me some lip scrub, but...not in my lip balm. lol DixieDragon--I made a HUGE mess pouring my tubes the other day. Why I didn't think to put wax paper underneath is beyond me, but this...

    A couple Lip Balm Questions

Hi everyone! *waves* My daughter and I have the worst winter chapped lips right now (owww!), so we decided lip balm would be our newest project. My daughter is also going to give some out to her friends for Valentine's Day, so we decided to do a few different "flavors." We purchased and...
