What soapy thing have you done today?

Wow, thank you very much. My wife wanted me to make another batch and use less coffee grinds. Not going to now. I have a friend that told me she uses a coffee scrub on her face and she really likes it and has a very nice complexion.

What makes a great gardener's soap?

So how much coffee grounds do you put in your soap? I was using the same measurement as I do for oatmeal and its kinda rough on the skin.

    olive oil

Hey everybody, I'm wondering if I can mix regular olive with extra virgin olive? I have a little bit of regular and a little bit of extra virgin I would like to mix them together and use with my next batch!

    mice/mouse problems

I was planning a out of town trip, so I set my spring traps with bait, set out my glue traps around several bars of soap and was gone for 7 days. I also unplugged my electric pest eliminator (scare away thingy) so the mice would take the bait. When I got back, late at night, I wanted to go to...

    mice/mouse problems

I have one of those things too. It was on the other side of my work room, and they still came. Yesterday I moved it so it was maybe 15" or 16" from my soap bait (old bars of my soap) this morning when I went out there I had caught a tail of one of them, not sure what happen to the rest of...

    mice/mouse problems

Hello all, not sure if this the right place to bring this up, but here goes. I had my soap all lined up on my work bench letting it dry, or cure. I picked up one of the bars and OMG there were tooth marks on it. It was my coconut and olive oil soap. Then I started noticing the little...

    Shaving soap

This is a real head-scratcher! LOL I've found David Fisher's recipes to be tried & true, so I'm wondering if the lather would improve with a longer cure? Also, IME, this type of shaving soap needs a period of "breaking in" and will improve over time. Just out of curiosity, did you make "pucks"...

    Shaving soap

Thanks for the answers for my next batch I will take that all in to consideration. But, the question is; can I do anything with the bars I have left? Like re-batch and add more something to make the lather last longer?

    Shaving soap

Hello all, bad news for me and my shaving soap. After making my shaving soap and letting it cure, and then packing it up to look nice and pretty. I passed it out as Christmas gifts. Now starting to get feed back. It doesn't lather that well. I've noticed it my self (in using it) but maybe I...

    Goats milk

Starting to get pretty worried. I have been making soap for several months now and plan on giving it as Christmas presents. Also making wooden soap dishes to place it on. My garage is my work space and I'm not letting any of the kids in so the soap will be a big surprise for them. I helped...
