    Bubbles on top

Yup, alcohol does the ash in, so no need to cover. It needs to be able to evaporate. I usually spray lightly once, and come back and spray again a few minutes later.

    How important is distilled water?

I'm in NC and our water is pretty good, but I run it through the purifier anyway. I have considered collecting rainwater. We certainly get enough of it here.

Pumpkin soap wedding favors, make it or buy it?

The added bonus of making it in smaller batches is you get to make soap more than once! If you do use beer, as mkbaber mentioned above, make sure you let it get completely flat before using, either by letting it sit open on the counter or by boiling it for a few minutes first!

Pumpkin soap wedding favors, make it or buy it?

Also, if it makes you nervous to make all the soap at once, make it in smaller batches. That's what I would do. I like working in small batches. Adoptapitbull, who do you get your fragrances from?

Face soap for acne with bentonite clay

I too have oily skin and the issue I usually have is most soaps overdry my skin and make the oil problem worse, so what I did was plug stuff into soapcalc until I got a soap on the low end of cleansing. I added a few drops of lavender oil for it's skin soothing benefits and added french green...

    Different Molds

My routine is similar to Bicycles, except I use a test cap, then wrap the bottom with saran wrap and rubberbands in case anything leaks out. Wrap in towels, gel. After 24 hours or so, I throw in the freezer for a couple of hours and then use a stack of soup cans with a baggie over the top one...

    Thermometers

I have to admit, I very rarely use my thermometer these days, unless I am trying to soap cooler, to keep trace thin for swirls. Half the time I forget it. I was so convinced, when I first started soaping that my temps had to be within X amount of degrees of each other. Now, I generally just...

    Funding Your Business

Call me horrible (and off-topic), but I would not give a single dollar to the anti-zombie soap, if only because they did not use a single period until the end of the second section. It was all just one terrifying run-on sentence.

    Dandruff bar?

Has he tried an apple cider vinegar rinse a couple of time a week? I usually do 2 parts water to 1 part acv with a few drops of EO to cover the vinegar smell. I made a special shampoo bar for my husband with a lot of avocado oil and a high superfat and he loves it (he is normally super-prone...

    Shaving soap is soft

Hmm, I'm going to have to check that out.

    CP Soap on a rope

I saw a video where they used a bar mold, but I bet you could use any kind of slab mold, where the bars are individual. She then inserted short lengths of straw in the mold and then when the bars were solidified, the straws slid right out and left holes to tie twine through.

    Favorite Colorants and Suppliers?

WSP has a lot of natural colorants, but their prices on micas are terrible. Brambleberry has some. I have to admit I am overwhelmed by the choices on tkbtrading and the Conservatorie. I have to admit the Conservatorie is probably out just for the 50$ minimum order.

    Favorite Colorants and Suppliers?

I am starting to find some lovely scents and I've got some of my basic recipes down to where I am very happy with them, but I am still experimenting with colors. I find I prefer the powder colors (to me less messy and easy cleanup). I am all for natural, micas, oxides, pigments, so I wanted to...

    Can I Fix It?

I wish I had known that sooner, OliveOil. I already added water for my rebatch but I have cubes of coconut milk in the freezer! I will keep it in mind for next time!
