What to do when you see someone stealing other people's soap designs?

I have read that post on Auntie Clara's blog! I just love her blog and I think about what she said often. She is an inspiration not just her soaps but her attitude :D I guess even though it's irksome to see someone copy your own, or someone else's, designs, in the end it's just soap (even if...

What to do when you see someone stealing other people's soap designs?

Yeah you guys are totally right, you only need to do a couple of searches on a soap and a hundred versions of it pops up, and it almost seems stupid, a soap design can't always be planned either right. Something about it really bothered me but it's hard to explain you'd have to see the pics. I...

What to do when you see someone stealing other people's soap designs?

Hi there, This is more of a comment or question I guess about integrity. A soaper I follow on a social media outlet makes exact replicas of other people's soaps that I have seen on websites, and youtube, and copied one of my own soaps. Has anyone else heard of this happening? I can't really...

making bathbombs for a market - how far ahead should I make them?

Wow, thank you so much! So nice of you to share your recipe! I made a bathbomb yesterday to test and it looks good so far. The humidity was insane here, and the mix actually started holding together before I added the water/hydrosol! I'm going to try your recipe next :) and I will certainly...

making bathbombs for a market - how far ahead should I make them?

Hi there! I have two market dates in October (7th and 14th) and I want to sell some bathbombs and truffles this time, but I'm unsure how far ahead I can make them. It's summer now obviously and where I am it's super humid and pretty hot some days so I'm kinda holding off on making them...

Thanks KristaY!! I made it for an aunt who's giving it as a wedding gift :D So it was a good thing I asked the forum before I made it ;)

    Stubborn ash won't go away

Ash update! Hi everyone! So I made a new batch of soap and this one doesn't have a speck of ash. I used distilled water instead of spring water, sprayed with 99% isopropyl alcohol instead of 70% and used a 33% lye concentration instead of 32%. I also soaped warmer than I usually do, at 100F...

    Stubborn ash won't go away

Nag Champa fragrance oil? Definitely think it has something to do with the humidity and how the water evaporates. Maybe I'll try a steeper water discount Yesterday the humidity was 60%, it felt like July! Thanks for all the suggestions, can't wait to see what happens :D

    Stubborn ash won't go away

Ah I just got that book from my mother in law. I haven't read that part yet though. In the salt soap I used filtered water, not distilled. But I just made a soap with distilled water and it got ash as well - although a bit less. I sprayed it with alcohol too though... Maybe it's because I used a...

    Stubborn ash won't go away

Do you cover with saran wrap or something else? I do cover my soap, but ran out of cling film and so I only covered with a wood board. Maybe this is the problem... Yes, in the middle there's a line of pink salt crystals. The rest is just ash... Very frosty looking ash... Yes!! Exactly...

    Stubborn ash won't go away

I don't know if anyone else has this problem, but it seems i get ash on all my soaps - whether I spray with alcohol, water discount, put the soap in a heated oven, or not. What's going on? Could it be that I use extra virgin olive oil? Or am I just not discounting enough - I usually soap at 32%...

Want to buy shampoo bar by Canadian soapmaker

Hi, I've been trying to find a good shampoo bar. I've never used any solid shampoos other than my own but I'm not happy with the recipe yet. I would like to try something that's tried and true so to speak just to see what a good quality shampoo bar is like. I'd prefer to buy Canadian if...

"Winter is coming"...question about whipped body butter

I make wbb pretty regularly and I find a ratio of 3 parts butters to 1 part oil to be very good and some added starch can be nice. I don' add any waxes or complicate it any further. yes you have to wait until it cools, otherwise you will whip for nothing. I made a post about it when I was...
