I'd been really wanting to try making a silicone mold and had the silicone and clay that didn't have any sulfur in it to make my shape. Fossils are so cool, as I was looking at photos of fossils Ammolites kept coming up. I went down a rabbit hole!! Ammolite is such an interesting & pretty rock/...

What soapy thing have you done today?

If you look at soapcalc, they have both duck and Goose fats listed. Double clicking on a fat in the list will bring up the fat properties on the left side of the screen. They use almost the same amount of NaOH per pound, 0.62g or 0.02oz difference.

    Yay for broken ankles

I second going to physical therapy can make a huge difference. My therapists have been great, giving just what I need. Every time I watch YT videos and try something different I end up in pain. Tape on the pillow, sounds like a pain. A roll of velcro may help though or an old belt. Healing...

What soapy thing have you done today?

I wonder if you could take a clear plastic sleeve and cut a piece of paper or 2 to cover all the parts not needed. I usually end up taking an index card and moving it down the paper as I measure each oil. How wonderful you had quality time with your son making soap!

The Truth About Lasting Fragrance (Essential Oils)

I have an allergy to roses and react to scented flowers. Also a bunch of allergies to trees, grasses and chemical sensitivities & sulfites. I tried a couple EOs in soap and gave up. Almost any fragrance I've been near recently has caused an ocular migraine or regular migraine, asthma and...

    Red mica turning orange

I also saw info for one of nurture's orange colors, it said not to let it over heat because a lot of reds will fade if over heated.

What soapy thing have you done today?

@AliensrReal that's horrible, how sad! I've started covering the oven controls when I put soap in the oven... at least it makes them ask. I really should write in the paper "soap in oven". My husband started to move the paper last time as he was asking and pushing buttons.

    Red mica turning orange

Nurture has reviews and some of them add pictures, so you can see the colors others get. They have actual soap sample photos. They also have info about how much to use to get the best color.
