    1st goat milk soap...ugh

I’ve found a direct correlation between ammonia smell and soaping temps. The lower the temp, the less the smell. I make an unscented Goat milk soap, and after cure the ammonia smell is completely gone.

For Craft’s Sake #25 Block mold

Hello all, We’ve had a lot of luck with this mold and enjoy using it as it saves boatloads of time for us. However, I really hate dealing with petroleum jelly to adhere the Mylar and seal the corners. Has anyone discovered any alternate tricks? If not, how do you most effectively clean the...

    Optimal Bath Bomb Humidity?

Ah! Thanks for explaining. I'll try that. I was thinking that if I just doubled the amounts from the original batch that it would work. Still curious about humidity.

    Optimal Bath Bomb Humidity?

By doubling a recipe, aren't I already doubling it by 100%? Since this is a recipe that I use a lot, I have doubts about the oils being the culprit, but am curious about how to do a oil-less bath bomb for future reference.

    Citric Acid Questions

But this was the batch that I weighed everything out in grams. Both the first and the second batch which I just doubled the recipe for. It stands to reason, that if the first batch called for 50g, that the second would call for 100, and so long as all the ratios are scaled equally, wouldn't...

    Optimal Bath Bomb Humidity?

I'm having some issues. What else is new, right? So, last post I was thinking that my bombs not sticking had something to do with the fact that I had changed out my CA for some random brand off of Amazon because the grains were very large. Well, then I tried another batch and it worked so...

    Citric Acid Questions

Yeah, I have a feeling that's what it might be. I wonder if I made a regular batch of just one color for all the colors if that would get me to where I need to be.

    Citric Acid Questions

Ok, well, I tried it. Whizzing the CA in my food processor. Now I'm not entirely sure that was my problem. The first batch of it I made was a regular small batch. Everything came together like a champ! So, it worked. The second batch I made, immediately after, seriously, without hesitation I...

    Citric Acid Questions

I had to buy some emergency citric acid for my shows this weekend, which means that I had to buy what I could get my hands on. Lately I've been using Milliard Citric Acid, and it seems to have a pretty small crystal structure. Well, this new stuff, from Spicy World, has a longer crystalline...

Where to get heavy duty bath bomb molds

I'm surprised your aluminum molds lasted that long! I bought my stainless molds from Bulk Apothecary, they were 4.95 a set and I LOOOOVVE them.

    Soaping Equipment

YES! Me too. I use them now for test batches. I recently discovered that they really only work well for MP soaping. Unless you have CP of steel, I find them to be difficult.

    Soaping Equipment

I saw them at Target recently for $29, new.

    Soaping Equipment

I was trying to break the air seal at the short end and it just busted the corner. I was so annoyed that I decided that I needed to pull my soap out completely right then and proceeded to tear the thing apart. So, how did I manage? Surprisingly easily, if I do say.

    Soaping Equipment

That's true. I never tried the single bar wire cutter types, only the mitre box types and could never get an even bar of soap out of them. With that said, I purchased mine off of Etsy and I think it was along the lines of $120 for the flat style (not the tank type). OP did say she doesn't mind...
