    EO's for candles

Oh, thanks, that's good to know. Seems like I haven't seen any citrus candles that I can remember.

    EO's for candles

Oh, I've never even heard of those! I suppose the citrus scents won't burn away like they do in soap.

    EO's for candles

Thanks for the replies! So, if my math is correct, a tablespoon is .5 ounces but I would need .8 ounces (16 oz candle x 5%). I guess I could do that with some of the less expensive EO's. I'll give it a whirl. Thanks again! :D

    EO's for candles

Hi everyone, I'm just starting to dabble in candles, and have made one one-pound soy pillar candle so far. I used a tablespoon of lavender EO in it. It smells amazing up close, but the scent doesn't throw into the room at all. I've been searching around to find out how aromatherapy...

    Percentage of coconut oil

Thanks, everyone! I guess I won't worry about it! :D

    Percentage of coconut oil

Thank you...that's good to know! Why would the story change if I sell it?

    Percentage of coconut oil

I have a minor dilemma here...or maybe not. In reading some old posts yesterday, I saw that there shouldn't be more than 20-24% coconut oil in a recipe or the result would be too drying. I've been happy with my soap formula that has 30.5% coconut oil...it doesn't seem drying at all...

    EO's for coffee soap?

Hi, All! I haven't been around for a while, but I'm getting back into my soap making and looking for some new ideas. Hubby wants me to make a coffee soap, and I've read up on that. However, I don't want to use FO's, so does anyone have an idea of what EO's would be complementary to coffee...

    Sealing sugar scrub

I like the teflon tape idea! What is a sealing disk? Is that like on a canning jar?

    Orange EO in soap

This is what I'm wondering...what if I tried like 4/1 or 5 or 6/1?? I'm willing to try it since I have so much of the orange. I wonder if that would help or if it's just going to fade no matter how much you use?

    Sealing sugar scrub

My supplier uses electrical tape when they ship me my oils, but they are the ones who told me (plus I learned from experience) that you can't keep a scrub in a jar!

    Orange EO in soap

I don't have any orris, but I think I'll maybe try a little litsea AND patch! Thanks, everyone!

    Orange EO in soap

Wow! I had no idea benzoin was known for causing trouble. I don't know if I've actually used it in anything yet. I just bought it because I wanted something to approximate vanilla. Maybe the litsea idea would be the best... Just a question though...could the problem be that...

    Orange EO in soap

I like that idea, but I don't use any FO's...just EO's. :? I wonder if pairing it with something like benzoin would fix the scent?
