    First soaps in...a while

After many a day, here is a cut of the black one! I tried to use one of those mica spray bottles but next time I'll definitely just use a mini sieve(probably an old tea ball lol) to get a thicker mica line.

    First soaps in...a while

Silly me forgot to take a picture of the black ones after they were cut (how did I forget??? lol). They're curing in my apt right now, and I'm at home. BUT I'm going back in a couple days so... I'll post a pic then!

    First soaps in...a while

It's been a couple years and they're not perfect (hello air pockets and TD streaks!) but I'm pretty proud of these loafs! The first one is a unisex scent. 1 part candle science black currant absinthe + 1 part crafter's choice spiced cranberry = spicy, smoky, very deep berry type scent. Design...

I’m taking the plunge this weekend

Some ppl aren’t going to agree with me on this but... The best thing I learned is that literally everything you’re doing in the soap making process is accelerating the reaction. All the reactions produce heat which accelerates, stirring accelerates, colorants accelerate, fragrance accelerates...

This forum is going to get a lot of activity soon...

I agree that she did an excellent job for her first attempt and I’m glad she tried multiple times. I love her content; so fun! I’m just worried because there’s so many young kids who are going to view this and even though she actually did a pretty good job covering safety there’s still some...

This forum is going to get a lot of activity soon...

A very popular mainstream YouTuber, Safiya Nygaard, with nearly 8M subscribers just released a video of her attempting to follow a soap queen cp tutorial. I have a feeling there’s going be a big influx of interest in soaping especially from young people in the next month as a result. I’m very...

Floral FO for someone who doesn’t like florals

Lol I’m the same way. I really like fruity scents. I think my first soap was actually black raspberry vanilla scented :D I haven’t tried lime and coconut yet though... sounds pretty good

Floral FO for someone who doesn’t like florals

Woah thanks for all the recommendations guys. Some of these sound really yummy and let’s just say, I have a lot of browser tabs currently open XD @Susie thanks, I’ll have to do some research :) @MGM You’re totally right. I had a horror story a couple years ago where I made a few pounds of a...

Floral FO for someone who doesn’t like florals

Wow thank you all for your responses! I’m definitely intrigued by the honeysuckle, Eden’s garden, and pink Lilac and Willow. I’ll have to look into them and see if I should order samplers. Update on what my friends say they like: everyone just said that they like florals, nothing specific...

Goat Milk Soap - Good for you or just good for the label?

Hi I’m in college rn and I was actually having a similar discussion with my chemistry type major friends. To explain I’ll tell a story: there was apparently a dangerous lab that occurred where they were using 10M-concentration measurement- of a weak acid. A girl got it on her skin and had to...

    Hello from Texas!

Hi y’all! I’ve been lurking on and off for a while I started with cold process soaping in high school, and now I’m halfway through college making soap in my apartment and soon to be making soy candles yay! Thought I might say hello :)

Floral FO for someone who doesn’t like florals

Thank you IrishLass! You make a very good point. However, to be honest I’m not entirely sure what they like, which is where I should’ve honestly started... They tend to buy “whatever smells nice at bath and body works” I’ve heard them talking about lavender and another scent which...

Floral FO for someone who doesn’t like florals

I don’t like florals but my friends do. I don’t have to like the fragrance, but do y’all have recommendations for non perfumey florals that women in their early 20s would enjoy? I can’t actually tell if a floral fragrance is good or not, just if it’s weak or strong or gives me a headache...
