It's probably just as well that I didn't get to mine in time - there are some gorgeous ones entered! I had such a hard time casting my votes! This was going to be my first challenge, but life got in the way. I'm looking forward to the next challenge, though :)

Mark another patchouli hater down. I think it might have something to do with hanging out in a house full of patchouli incense and getting quite sick (for other reasons :lol:) when I was a teenager. Now, every time I smell it I feel slightly ill.

I just cut my not-as-intended soap. It wasn't what I was going for, but it doesn't look bad. The purple layers didn't spread out at all since I had to stir that one longer to mix the mica, but it's kind of a cool look.

I finally got my sodium citrate (we have hard water at the new house), and DH is out of town until tomorrow, so I whipped up a relatively large batch for me. Unfortunately, I ended up mixing so much to get the micas mixed that I didn't get the pour I was looking for. It might end up looking...

I miss NYC bagels so much. I went to Columbia for undergrad, and when I moved back to the South I was appalled by what passed for a "bagel" here. I'd love the recipe and procedure.

Please don't judge GM from anything store bought. Fresh goat milk tastes very similar to cow's milk except somewhat sweeter and creamier (especially the milk from our mini Nubian). I did use some of my tallow to saute some veggies recently. It was quite delicious :)

I want to make lotion with some of my goat milk, but as I look as recipes and such I see that they all seem to call for pasteurized milk. The issue is that I don't pasteurize my milk since 1) I prefer to drink raw milk and 2) stove-top pasteurizing is a total pain. Right now I don't have any...
