While not located on the East Coast, Nurture’s Chocolate Indulgence smells like dark chocolate to me (maybe just a touch vanilla–y but still better than B.B. for me) It behaves well and sticks but discolors like crazy.

I also agree that Nurture’s micas are reliable and fully tested in CP soaping. A few WSP colors, notably two from their “oil locking” mica line, really bled and morphed for me.

I love a truly white bar of soap and a lot of these suggestions will help you get there. The one thing that I occasionally forget to consider is that so many FO’s will discolor, sometimes right away and sometimes during cure. It definitely pays to do your homework in advance...

I wish I had read the advice about red palm oil before using a 17oz jar in a batch. Not only did it completely stain my molds, but the resulting soap bled so badly I just threw it all out. Live and learn, I guess!

Just to follow up on this (Sorry you didn't get more responses), I would avoid using any Mica/TD blends in these sprayers because you'll inevitably have some aerosolization of particles. Today, using a gold mica for a quick pencil line, I noticed quite a cloud of mica in the air for minutes...

I'm behind already! I just tried a batch using Nurture's Winter Wonderland, and wow did it accelerate. I'm trying again with a different FO. Wish me luck ;)

Restaurants, hospitals and other institutions that cook in volume routinely throw out (or, hopefully, recycle) large heavy duty #5 plastic pails that are wonderful for mixing or masterbatching lye. I found that just asking someone nicely yielded several free containers (with handles and lids!)...

Patchouli EO is fantastically shelf stable, and often lasts a decade or more with little drop in potency. If you find that they smell "off" or you just don't want to risk it in a body product, they'd probably still be fine in a household cleaning product.

I love rice bran oil, but it does have a relatively short shelf life. I've never used it above 30% personally.
