OMG! Did it get too hot?

THANK YOU!!!! ;-) I have been doing salt bars until now, I guess the olive oil soaps get hotter than the 100% coconut oil. I am going to try one more time with the OO and then I am going to be HP the rest of my OO soaps I think. May we see pics! Thank you for saying my swirls looked nice...

OMG! Did it get too hot?

thanks!! I was pretty happy with it. I have to get the hang of this cp thing. I want to ensure gel and I still havent found a way to MAKE that happen other than the oven, but these new recipes are too hot for it.

    What temperature range prevents gel?

how can you control gelling with soaping temps?

OMG! Did it get too hot?

So I bit the bullet and sliced the soaps. Yes, getting a flat plane IS a big deal for me. And i messed it up pretty bad. but! i was very happy with what I saw underneath. It shows me that I CAN do it. I also hand mixed this purple color. The soap is still SUPER oily and soft.

OMG! Did it get too hot?

I have unmolded them and they are still icky with oil. I have them on parchment until I can decide what to do. I cant imagine taking a knife to plane the surface off of each one of the bars and remaining flat and i cant just plane off the edges as the top is all pocked and imploded....

OMG! Did it get too hot?

I normally dont bake it, I made a mistake and left the oven on. I normally turn it off and just use the oven as an incubator for the soaps as my curing room is too cool to put them in before gel. It also does cut down my cure/dry time by a week for my salt bars. And I'm not willing to take...

OMG! Did it get too hot?

I dunno. Im going to cut in to one today to see what I can do. I honestly think I want to just melt it in the crock and repour. hopefully the heat from the crock doesnt burn off the e.o. or maybe Ill just cut them in to sample chunks and let it cure...

OMG! Did it get too hot?

Ok. I took them out of the freeze. They would have been gorgeous. It looks like the mica bubbled up and out... I had it mixed in a tiny bit of olive oil that i then stick blended in to the soap. think that did it? (Im sure leaving the oven on didnt help!) As you can see there is oil on...

OMG! Did it get too hot?

Will do. Now it has oil leaking out of the top of the mold. We just threw them in the freezer. Think I should leave it over night?

OMG! Did it get too hot?

No, no panicking. At this point I just want it out of the mold so I can try another recipe. The oven was 170. I usually turn it OFF and work with very high coconut oil soaps/salt bars. This time I left it on. (STUPID MISTAKE) this was a first go round with high % O.O. soap. Violet leaf tea...

OMG! Did it get too hot?

I thought heat processed the lye out. I'm so confused. What are lye pockets and how do they form? Should I put them in the freezer?

OMG! Did it get too hot?

I took it out of the oven, its still pudding in the middle. How do I know if it has lye pockets or not?
