Three layer coffee soap (with real coffee grounds!)

Thanks! My boyfriend and I tried it today and it actually works really well as a not overly abrasive body scrub. If you try it I hope it works out :)

    First attempt at Gradient style....

That's beautiful! I don't think you could ask for a better gradient.

Three layer coffee soap (with real coffee grounds!)

I'm so proud of this one! I think this is the best set of bars I've made. I don't actually like coffee- as a drink or the smell- but I love it as an exfoliant. Each layer has one K-cup worth of coffee grounds between. .

    Smoke swirl

Very cool! And very intentional looking. I got a similar effect by putting my loaf mold on a lazy susan and giving it some gentle spins between pours.

    Any suggestions for soap cutters?

Thanks for the tip! That looks similar to ones I've seen on some soap makers YouTube videos.

    Any suggestions for soap cutters?

I've been using this simple box with notches and handheld slicer/scraper, but I'm considering upgrading. I've found this is good for splitting my full loaves, but working with smaller pieces usually ends up in uneven cuts. Any suggestions on cutters, or how to better use the one I have? I don't...

My soap won't stop sweating. Please help

Could you have over added or not properly mixed a fragrance oil? I once made a batch that had little droplets of the fragrance oil rise to the surface when it was still in the mold.

What soapy thing have you done today?

I cleaned my soaping materials lol. I also cut a bit of my latest soap. This might be cheating, but later I plan on making another themed soap :)

    Activated charcoal

I think some people like coloring with activated charcoal versus mica because it's "more natural" and has some skin benefits for acne prone folks like myself. Activated charcoal was the only additive in my acne bars and I do think it helped keep my face clear. It is a bit drying, but that's...

Any idea why my ombre soap didn't ombre?

Thank you so much for the insightful answer. I'll definitely focus more on my flow when doing gradients :)

    Arizona sunset gradient soap

My ombre came out pretty good! Please pardon the not super quality- I think they look a lot better in person. There's soda ash on top and on the sides but I really like it in this case. There was also some on the inside it looks like, but I gave the pictured bars a wash and it made it a lot less...

    Stormy Seas soap revisited!

The stamping really pushes it over the edge as far as coolness goes. Love it!

    Greeting from New Jersey!

Hi everyone. I've been soaping on and off (mostly off) for about 6 years now. My first major foray was making my own activated charcoal facial bars, while my next big project was making mini soaps as favors for my aunt's wedding. In addition to traditional bars I've make whipped shaving soap...
