Silicone Molds and high flames

Hey there! I am having issues with my candles flame size. I have the right wick for the size of my vessel and the type of wax but when I put a mold on the top of the candle ( like a cactus or a flower) the wax pools down from that molded part and the flame then becomes huge and Smokey. I see other people are able to master this. What am I doing wrong?

what is the fragrance percentage you are using? I am not experienced myself in candle making, but I saw a picture in a group recently, that showed two lit candles, With 8% and 10% FO percentage; side by side. The 10% made a much larger flame.
