Coffee soap with pockets?

Hello everyone,

i just cut up a new batch of coffee soap, first time making it.
I used coffee in the ice cubes and added coffee fragrance oil.

Is this a lye pocket or unsaponified oils or fragrance oil? Will have have to discard or rebatch?

I just used a cotton swab to scoop it out and dip it in a very small amount of water and preformed a PH test, it came out good so must be the fragrance oil, or overheating?

As long as it isn't a lye pocket, I think it adds character!

Any chance it was a glob of grounds that didn't get mixed in?

I had the same thing happen with a honey soap and it was perfectly fine to use. So I'd say probably overheating .

Obsidian I think you may be on to something, since its all black and oozy it might be the grounds themselves, I did use a stick blender but you can't see in all that better well.

bhelen I'm glad your soap turned out alright, nothing worse than a batch gone bad, its not a lye pocket so could be overheating or coffee grounds
