The tallow debate

Does it clog pores? Does it not? Been reading mixed reviews. I am using it to replace palm in my facial soap formulation, and so far so good. My skin is prone to blackheads, and i didn't notice any funky stuff using my soap. Did it say something?

I'm not finding Tallow on any of the lists but stearic and palmitic acid are low on most of lists I've seen.

I don't use tallow in my facial bars, but I do use lard, and love it on my aging but once acne prone skin.

I love tallow in all my soaps. I have always been prone to blackheads and breakouts, the tallow soaps have not contributed to that problem.

thanks for the link (very helpful) and responses guys. the more i read about tallow, the more i get that the clogging pore thingy is just a myth. like Kansas, my face is prone to blackheads, and i believe if tallow is clogging my blackheads would be too. in reality, that does not happen.

I think you might break out if you rubbed lard or tallow right into your face and left it there. But in a soap that gets washed off, I doubt it would cause clogging.
