Hi. :)

I made some lotion bars a few weeks ago and gave a couple to my sister and her family. Her husband puts lotion on his hands at night because he has them in water a lot during the day, and they get really sore.

When he tried using my lotion bars, his skin cracked. I told him the ingredients (beeswax, shea butter, mango butter, cocoa butter, and coconut oil. He said when he uses lip balm with beeswax, his lips crack, so we figure that's the culprit.

I made some based on a friend's recipe, 1 part cocoa butter and 2 parts coconut oil. I think she must have used 92 degree coconut oil, because these did not stay solid at room temperature!

I am considering getting some 92 degree coconut oil and trying that recipe again. But I'm also wondering, is there a good alternative to beeswax? I was thinking of trying either carnauba or candelilla wax in place of the beeswax.

Thanks!
Lisa
