Will soap be fine if it is not bought to trace?
When I put it into the mold it was getting hard and thick I mixed it a little but not to trace as it was already thick- will it be fine? will I just have to wait longer before I un mold it ?

I think you might be confused about trace. Trace is when the soap starts to get thick which yours was.

There is a difference between trace for soap made with NaOH(bar soap) and soap made with KOH(liquid soap)

Trace for bar soap is when you can see a faint trace of a drop left on the top when you lift the stick blender or spatula. Still very liquid, but you can see where it was.

Trace for liquid soap is a thick paste that the stick blender no longer moves.

Sounds like your soap seized. Just wait until it is hardened, unmold and do a zap test.
