Lotioners, which emulsifier do you use and why? I've been reading on the forum, and on lotioncrafter.com and the herbarie, and I want to experiment a bit. I wish they offered sample packs of their emulsifiers to try out.

I've been using e-wax, which I'm honestly pretty happy with, but I want to try out a couple others just to see. My recipe has quite a bit of cocoa butter in it, and I like a thicker lotion, but I want it to be spreadable and absorbed relatively quickly.

Anywho, I'm repeating myself a bit so I'll end here. ;)

I'm not an expert on lotion making but I've used different ewaxs depending on what I results I want to achieve. I've used the one with Cetearyl Alcohol (and) Polysorbate 60 as the ingredients for heavier lotions and creams. I've used WSP's Soft & Silky (Cetearyl Alcohol (and) Ceteareth-20) for lightweight lotions. BTW, I also use stearic acid in lotions and creams as a thickener and stabilizer. I've also used glyceryl monostearate (not sure I'm spelling this correctly ). I haven't seen this offered for sale in a few years. It looks like what's available now is glyceryl stearate SE.

Have you looked on http://swiftcraftymonkey.blogspot.com/ for information on emulsifiers? I consider Susan the queen of lotion making and her blog is a tremendous resource.

Here's the link to some info where she discusses some emulsifiers.
