Do you add your essential oils before or after the whipping !! I keep getting conflicting advice on this one? What is your preferred method and why :)

sorry two questions in one, but am also interested in your thoughts on using cornflour(cornstarch) in your whipped body butters to cut down greasiness?

tks

If you have heated your oils then you should wait until the cool down again before adding essential oils as they are volatile. I like cornstarch and have used it, I am now using tapioca starch as I like the after feel better than the corn starch.

Have fun.....

I don't melt my shea. I make it into smaller pieces than whip it in the KA for a bit. When it's smooth I add the oils, and the FO. I use IPM and cyclo instead of cornstarch, so I add that with the other oils.
Hope that helps!
