Has anyone ever done a Buttermilk CP soap? Curious if it turns out any better than a Goats Milk Soap?

Yes, I often use buttermilk. Use the same cautions you would with goat's milk to prevent overheating.

I tried a few batches of buttermilk recently and they went . The soaps are not yet fully cured, so I haven't tried them. I froze the buttermilk into cubes prior to mixing. I found that the buttermilk got a bit more orange during mixing than GM. I was mixing them side by side for different batches, so I was able to notice this slight difference. HTH.

i mostly make buttermilk soap. i divide my liquid and use half distilled water (or beer or wine) for the lye mixture. i add the other half buttermilk at trace. if i'm hp'ing i add the buttermilk after the cook. often i'll add powdered buttermilk for extra creaminess. love butttermilk soap!
