Ok so can I double a lotion recipe? Example: instead of making 8oz can I double it to make 16 oz? Thanks in advance!!!

Yes.

As long as you follow good manufacturing practices, measure carefully, preserve adequately, etc, you can make whatever quantity you want.

You may want to stick with those smaller batches tho until you know you like the recipe, have mastered the technique, and have a reasonable idea of its shelf-life. 16oz is twice as much waste if it separates on you.

Thank you new12. I appreciate the advice and answer . Yea I bleach wash and alcohol everything including hands , table, utensils, etc. one can never be too careful especially when water is involved.

Yup. I have 2 suggestions:
1) Don't go from 8 ounces to 32 ounces (quadrupling the recipe), the first time. Double it first, and if that goes well, double it again.
2) Have a bigger container that you think you'll need.
