My family LOVES their bacon. I always keep the drippings for cooking. Now I see I can use it when I don't have palm oil. What is the best way to "clean" the drippings so I have something useable for CP soaps?
Thanks.

Good link, thanks, and I agree with the comments there regarding the "bumping" problem and how to avoid it. (Use a pot deep enough in relationship to the liquids that it contains the "bump"; or, more simply, just don't boil it -- certainly not after the fat's melted.) Some salt or acidify the water to help the separation, but I don't really think you gain much there. The really ambitious try to recover some gravy-making or soup flavoring stuff from the water phase, which is spoilage-prone.
