Are there ranges to the ingredients in lotion making ti make it right? Like how soap calc has ranges for how your soap will be if you add so much of something?

For all things lotion, I recommend susan at swiftcraftmonkey http://swiftcraftymonkey.blogspot.com/

The site is huge and there is a LOT of information, but if you scroll down, it is all organized by topic etc on the right hand side, including a beginner's guide to lotionmaking and guides to ingredients.

Your question was actually the very first thing I inquired about when I made my first foray into lotion-making. To my disappointment, though, the answer given to me was 'no'.

But, there is a most excellent and amazing resource on the net that will be of great help to you (or anyone else, for that matter) in formulating your own lotion- Susan Barclay's site (aka 'swiftcraftymonkey). Here is her introduction to beginning lotion-making, but do have a look around at the rest of her blog. It's nothing short of amazing. She's a very knowledgeable and generous person indeed: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1020026/introductiontolotionmakingthingie.pdf
