I would suggest you do a lot of research on the web and through books. Find a supplier nearest you and if they sell a starter kit, buy one and start there. The supplier will be able to help you with recommendations for wicks, jars, additives, etc. Once you actually start making candles, it is easier to help you to answer the questions you might have then. Those of us that do this have put a lot of time, effort and money into our craft. You will need to do the same to learn this stuff. Have fun and good luck.
