Hi everyone...

I've just viewed a video on YouTube
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LdRQrRQm_-w&feature=youtube_gdata_player"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LdRQrRQm ... ata_player[/ame]

And around the two minute mark, she uses a tool to make soap swirls. Does anyone know where I can get one of these from?, and secondly what is she scraping the swirls from? Is it wax or something?...

Thank you

Both the clear and the opaque pastel in that video are melt and pour (glycerin-based) soaps.

She's using a butter curler on a translucent glycerin soap that she had poured earlier. Then she packs the mold with the embeds and pours another melt and pour over the top. (cool enough so it won't melt the swirls).

You could do something similar in cold process, but I'm not sure you can rely upon the cold process to curl in exactly that same way. (On the other hand, I've got a few butter curlers here waiting for my next experiment.)

I think you can use melt and pour shapes in a cold process soap, but I'm not experienced enough to know what to look out for.
