I want to make soap with olive oil (and other oils/fats) that has as little scent as possible. I've tried recently a 100% olive oil soap and an olive oil/honey/oatmeal soap made by other people. Both had the same sharp scent to them that made my nose run. Neither had any added fragrance. Their scent hasn't lessened after five or six weeks. Both bars have a faint green tinge, so I assume they were made from extra virgin. Would pomace or refined A be scentless, or at least produce a bar that would have no more than the very slightest soapy aroma? Thanks in advance for any advice you can give me.

I use pomace and find it doesn't have any noticeable aroma, I do mix it with other oils, I can't comment on the 100% OO as I haven't made any. I use to use EVOO in with the other oils but didn't notice any smell. Only one way to find out :) , go for it.

there is a distinctive odor.
green can come from EVOO or from pomace.

i've soaped extra light OO and it had the same odor.
