For all of you and your loved ones I wish you health, happiness, joy and compassion for the new year. Merry Christmas! Happy Hanukah!

Merry Christmas all.

Wow! That was a 5 minute performance. Do you know how hard it is to get typically developing kids to remain that focused for a performance - let alone a group with special needs?? Shows what well trained teachers can do - and what capabilities special needs kids have when given the right venue to show it off.

When Kaylee started school she would barely speak in public. Her mom credits her music teacher.

One of my nephews has Aspberger Syndrome, on the autistic spectrum, and can attest to the reality of how hard it is for him to change his focus at all. I have to say that I truly believe that his parents (my brother & his former wife) and his brother are saints. The patience involved is phenomenal.

I agree that we'll trained teachers are valuable in their lives as well, but would also include them in the same category as my nephew's parents. They have to have the patience and compassion of a saint.
