Presto Pot Melter

Does anyone use the Presto Pot Melter or another small batch wax melter for their lotions and beauty products? I use a double boiler with a pyrex cup right now, but it's fairly small and very messy. Here's the link to their website.

I have one that I use for making candles & melts but never for lotions & stuff. Since there's a heat coil under it, the heat is mostly concentrated to the center so if you don't watch it, it can burn easily.
