I bought this premixed base for sugar scrubs, and was wondering if I need a preservative for it? I want to mix it up for my Mother's birthday. Supposed to just have to add scent and sugar.
From the site:
Our unscented Sugar / Salt Scrub Oil base offers unmatched quality and price. The Sugar / Salt Scrub Oil base does not need to be diluted and is great for people who want to add their own special ingredients or simply use as is. This Sugar / Salt Scrub Oil base is also great for people with fragrance allergies. Ingredients: Safflower Seed Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Sesame Seed Oil, Jojoba Seed Oil, Sunflower Seed Oil, Olive Oil, Vitamin E, Vitamin A.

Oil-based scrubs don't need preservatives but I believe some people add a little in case water gets in there during use - wet fingers for instance!

I always add a preservative for anhydrous products just in case. People usually dip their fingers in scrubs and use them in an environment where moisture is rampant.
