Yes, some people actually felt/recycle old sweaters.

It is also a wonderful way to hide ugly soaps! :D
 
Right. In the shower all moist with a wet piece of soap in it, no antibacterial property on this planet is going to keep the mold away.

I sort of think it is a waste of good wool yarn. I mean it is cool as a craft for someone else, but Once the bar of soap is done, so is it's little sweater. I appreciate that now I know what felted soap is and I am not going to pursue it.

But in order to cut down on germs it would need to be removed from the bar of soap and washed after each bath. Just like a washcloth, thus just use a washcloth.
