Coconut oil is an excellent sunburn remedy, and not a bad burn preventative.

Sunburn happens when the UV rays deplete your skin of vitamin
F (yes there is such a thing), and coconut oil is chock full of vitamin F.

Skip the aloe vera juice...coconut oil is far far better. Also shea butter.

I still got burnt when that's all that was available way back when, so for me CO was not a remedy for sunburn.

Oh coconut oil is not a sufficient sunblock.

But as I was allergic to all sunblocks (probably still am), it's what I had, so I took a hint from an old Southern neighbor of mine, who instructed me in the ways proper ladies are not to get a tan, so you get in the habit of limiting your sun exposure.

That and coconut oil did pretty well.

Of course it did mean if I was vacationing on Jekyll Island midday was shopping and tea time. But that's not so hard to take.
