I suck at HP, but thought I would practice. Did 40% water, added sugar and salt. Came out creamy and pourable, but have the caved in smiley on top, and my HP swirls still need a lot of work.

It looks great. I avoided the 'caved in smiley' look by lumping my soap up in the centre of the log and exaggerating the bumpiness with the back of a spoon before letting it cool.

Yours look lovely-- great swirl!!

Thanks for the tip. That makes sense, and we'll have to try it next time.

Looks great to me ! You did a great job ! I have not tried salt yet.

After I pour, I always put a piece of plastic wrap on top and run by hand down the top, pressing down on each side with my thumb on one side and little finger on the other to form a hump in the middle while pressing down the sides....if you don't, your soap has horns when you slice it. Also doing this smooths out the top just a little.
