After a few months of making bath bombs, I have some findings/notes.

Packing bath bomb tightly prolongs fizzing but weakens it (if you don't use SLSA). I prefer short but stronger fizz.

Red, black iron oxide based, and purple micas stain the most even with poly 80

Use less than 6% liquids in recipe and isopropyl alcohol for extra moisture

Clean and dry molds with alcohol to prevent sticking

Air dry 1 day for maximum hardness

Adding a few sprays of alcohol before closing two sides of the bath bomb mold seems to help.

Lavender EO and cotton candy FO do not go well together

Ideal amount of poly 80 if you use mica amount of oils + fragrance + 1/2 amount of mica.

For floating bath bombs, Add around 4% liquid, use cornstarch, less citric acid (SLSA to substitute for the loss of foam/fizz), and a smaller mold. Calculating density might also be a good idea.

Anyone else notice that the reaction of bath bombs in water sort of makes it colder?
