I have a silicone tray mold. It seems that since I have started using it that it isn't giving me as shiny-smooth bars as in the beginning. There are BARELY perceptible areas that just look almost like they have a residue on them (when looked at in the sunlight). And no, it doesn't wash off. Where these areas are the bars that I unmold from the same area don't seem so shiny. After I use the mold I just wash it good and put it on a clean towel to dry. I have wondered if I should maybe lightly coat it with mineral oil or something like that???

And sorry if this has already been discussed. :)

It certainly won't hurt to coat the tray with mineral oil or petroleum jelly. Either will aid in easier unmolding of your soap.
