I made a batch of soap with a brambleberry fragrance I just loved--Crisp Anjou Pear. It's been drying for about 6 or 7 weeks. Brought a bar into my shower to try it and the fragrance is almost gone! I't been making the room where it was drying smell great all this time!

So, lesson to self, some scents fade. Is there any way to predict this?

Thanks in advance for input

I find that most recipes need more scent than specified so I use the smell test to decide. This can be tricky though. You don't want seeping. Truth is we spend a lot of money on scents to sell soap not to use soap. Almost all scents will fade away. I do have my favorite brands though and once you do stick with them.

Just be careful to never go over the manufacturers maximum amount. Otherwise you can cause someone to get a chemical burn. Fragrance oil will eat through and dissolve many materials and can be damaging to your skin if you use too much.
