I know many of you will remember the rant a few months ago about my mom getting hung up with a contractor for 22+k for a walk in tub against my wishes or knowing about it.

The contractor that knocked out her wall tile ended up paying us to get the tile replaced. Yep we tacked on extra and he never questioned it, but did make up sign a disclosure that we would not sure him. The man knew he was in trouble with the Contractors Board and the City of Whittier. I got him thrown out of doing any work in our city.

I just wanted to post a pic of the set-up we made for my mom so she can bathe which was under 3k versus the 22+k the jerk was charging her for a walk in tub. Here is a link for the original thread. http://www.soapmakingforum.com/showthread.php?t=62696

This is the lift we purchased and the company we purchased it from. There customer service is top notchhttps://www.homeaccessproducts.com/product/bathmaster-deltis-bath-lift/
Following is a pic of the lift and cutout of the tub

That's ingenious, Carolyn. DId you cut the opening on the side of the tub or did that *@*%)! contractor do it? It looks like cast iron, so I'm wondering how well that went?

We found the installer from the website of the cutout piece. They did a wonderful job and yes it is a steel tub. A liner was installed in the cutout then the 2 piece cutout filler piece was installed. Just asked my hubby, since my memory seems to suck these days, he said it was around $1600 for the complete installation of the cutout and I paid $600 for the lift. Installation on a fiberglass tub would have been less. On the side they have a door opening but even the company did not recommend the door, so this on is a little peskier to open. There are 2 stainless bolts mounted on a top for securing the lift out piece. My mom cannot handle the cutout even though it is very lightweight, but someone has to be with her when she bathes so no big deal. Sorry I forgot to add the link for the manufacturer of the cutout https://www.cleancutbath.com/
